Gir National Park, India

Gir National Park is well known as the only abode of Asiatic Lion. There are about 300 Asiatic Lions in the Gir National national parkPark. Tourists from all around the world come here to watch thrilling activities of Asiatic lions and other wild animals. The forest of Gir comprises tress like teak, jamum, acacia, tendu, dhak, grasslands, etc. The Gir is a mixed deciduous type of forest with teak, ber, flame of the forest, jamun, a variety of acacia, particularly babul.     At May-June 2009,I visited this Gir National Park.Actually I am also from Junagadh(Saurashtra) Gujarat,and as one kathiyavadi person we are hearty invite all tourist or visitors for this place.

    Just want to share more about this Sanctuary,

    "Established in 1965, with a total area of 1412 km² (about 258 km for the fully protected area (the National Park) and 1153 km² for the Sanctuary), the park is located 65 km to the south-east of Junagadh."

    The best time to visit the area is outside the monsoon season.
